Depends on what you want, and the size of the football, but I'll tell you about a NFL sized ball.

Grade School: 10-30 Yards (older you are, the better the distance.) Sometimes 40 Yards.

Jr High: 20-40 Yards, sometimes 50 Yards.

High School 40-60 Yards, and college will definately look at someone who can pass up to 70, which is very possible in the bigger schools.

College: 60+ Yards, if it's under, college won't even look at you.

NFL: 70+ Yards, anywhere under, again, you'll either not be picked, unless you have runningback speed, or you'll be the third string QB.

Hope that helps. Adios.

If someone can throw it 100 yards with no accuracy, so?

Other than once or twice in a career doing a Hail Mary who cares?

I know some coaches and scouts put stock in it. I wonder why they are planning on Hail Marys.

Depends on how far down the field the receiver is...

Seriously, depends on what type of game your team plays, who the receivers are and how much protection you have.
It doesn't matter if your quarterback can chuck the ball 80 yards if he gets knocked down right off the snap. If you have slower receivers its better to be short and accurate.

Now, if you want to play for the Raiders, you better be able to throw it 70-80 yards or more... whether your receiving core catches it or not is not important.

well your age matters of course but also if you have been throwing footballs alot. when you first start throwing foot balls you usually suck but after a while you get better. but most average people throw 45-50 yards but when you get good there no telling how far you can throw.

60 yards. But it is more about accuracy than throwing power.

If you are talking QB the further the better but more than 50 yards is always a plus.
