Mexicans are not U.S. Native Americans.
U.S. Native Americans kicked most Mexicans out of Spanish terrority. They damaged the Mexican Army so badly it made it easy for a few Americans to capture California.
The Southwest was actually Spanish terroritory. People from Europe created and named the first cities in California.
Best answer: "... The native tribes that wandered and settled in the southwest were not Mexican Indians. Mexico only occupied the southwest for 29 years from 1821-1850. Aztecs and Toltec cultures, language, and beliefs are quite different from the (U.S.) southwestern tribes - (i.e. Pueblo tribes, Apache, Commanche, Shoshone and many others active and extinct). To say that modern day Mexican mestizos and Mexican Indians are one and the same as the native tribes of the U.S. is nothing more than an arrogant claim to supercede present-day immigration laws. ... "Why Do People From Mexico Now Pretend They Are U.S. Native Americans?
Mexicans are not U.S. Native Americans. In fact, they never got along and they speak different languages.
The Southwest's Apache warrior Chief Geronimo was proud to have killed so many Mexicans after they brutally killed his wife, his children, and his mother.
Also, The Southwest's Apache language is not Mexican(Aztec). The Apache language is part of the Athabaskan (Na-Dene) Language Family which is spoken from California to Alaska. ( Not Mexico )

Sounds true to me. But, the true American natives were as you said Indians, not Mexicans, and just because California and several other states were once part of Mexico, they aren't now. Spanish and other European country's are the reason the southwest and west were developed and not the Mexicans.

It's a little much, I'll admit, and I'm from a border state. But one thing to remember is that waaay back when, the US border jumped the Mexico border, and it wasn't the other way around.
Essentially, the natives and Mexicans that were already here were driven out, killed or enslaved to suit US needs. If you've ever been to the Southwest, you see the influence everywhere. It was a conquered region, and it has been brutally fought for and over for centuries. Hence, Pancho Villa, Geronimo, etc.

i think of that California is extra keen on the Hilbilly or McCain then they are to the O..it is many times an severe left state yet they could fairly see a girl get in there then a black guy.... some years in the past California had extra of a stability between left and acceptable yet not anymore.. Mexicans are frequently Dems and there are extra of them here then the different race!

There are 21 Spanish language radio stations in L.A. The illegal population just about out numbers the legal. Also last summer there were news stories of business that excepted Peso's instead of Green Backs in N.J. or N.Y.

Drugs are really bad for you. Quit...
Now you have become a Spanish hater.
I dont need to look at that advertisement. Put this in your mind, unlike you, the Spanish people are very decent people. They have no hate for anyone.
Next thing I expect of you is to recommend changing the names of Los Angeles, San Jose, San Diego etc...That is what you are thinking...Right?

And there are probably still people in the Southwest who speak Spanish not because of being illegal immigrants, but because they've done so ever since the founding of the U.S.

I'd guess that it's trying to convey that the audience of the channel being advertised, while living in LA, will feel like thier back home in Mexico while viewing their programming.
