There's a typo in your quesiton (you have "of" twice"), so I'll answer both ways.

1.2 billion is 20% of 6 billion
(1.2 / 6) * 100% = 20%

6 billion is 500% of 1.2 billion
(6/1.2) * 100% = 500%

find the percent when the amount and base are known

amount / base = percent

let

1200000 = amount

6000000 = base

- - - - - - -

divide

1200000 / 6000000 = 0.2

Multiply 100 times the decimal and attach the % symbol

100 x 0.2 = 20%

1200000 is 20% of 6000000

- - - - - - - - - - -s-
