2 m8s and i were discussing scissor sisters and we come up wiv 2 thoerys for the name its either bcoz ana matronic was a guy and had a sex change or its a slang term for lesbians.please can some1 put us out of our misery and put us right! as its buggin the hell out of us!!!!!

Scissor Sisters is a position in lesbian sex. I misread your question at first and thought you were on about Ana Matronic's name. She a woman born and bred and took the Matronic bit on as she's fascinated by robots and stuff, they even inspired the big tattoo over her shoulder.

The bloke in SS is called Jake Shears, presumably this is the scissors addition. I presume the sisters was formed from the fact that Ana Matronic and Jake Shears (who is gay) are seen as the 2 main singers/ members of the band- sisters (what americans call their friends- as he is gay). If this makes sense- it is why i have always presumed they are called that!!!
