Having sex while on your period is a matter of preference between the partners. Protection is always needed to prevent pregnancy and STD's!!!!!!!
My boyfriend and I don't have a problem with having sex during that time of the month, but I choose to do it in the shower during that time. This way we can have our fun then easily clean up afterwards.

I see nothing wrong with that some guys like it and some dont. I have had sex on my period on a one night stand with a guy he didnt mind the flow was heavy we just had to use a lot of towels we also used a condom. But now when it comes to my boyfriend we been together for a year and he's a registered nurse he gets turned off by me or any woman talking about their periods not unless he is working in triage or in the ER.

My opinion is that it is not that great. I feel like you are too dry to really enjoy it...plus it is hard to get really into it because you being on your period is in the back of your mind. But hey if your in the mood...your in the mood! And to answer your next question...yes you still need protection!

My wife and I do it sometimes. I have no problem with it, if she doesn't. Because we are married, and have never been with anyone else we do not wear protection. However, you can still get pregnant, and if you are having sex with someone who has had multiple partners you can still get an STD.
It is messy - but it is still fun. Some people claim that it helps with cramps - I wouldn't know. My wife has never said anything about that.

It's a matter of personal preference. Some like it, some don't.
YES, you do need protection. You can become pregnant then, and you are actually more prone to catch and pass certain STD's as well.

Absolutely you still need protection against STDs and pregnancy.
My opinion--I'm always horny as hell because of all the hormones and such, but the idea of actually having sex kinda grosses me out.

that all depends on you and your partner, as for protection I would still use it there is no reason to take a chance.
I personally don't mind having sex when my girl is on her period, she's alot hornier.

your period happens because the tissue lining your uterus is being sloughed off because the egg did not fertilize, no, you cannot get pregnant during your menstrual flow. However, you most certainly can get an STD, so "protection" as you call it is still a good idea. Other than that, I would just call it messy.
