by mistake i formatted my memory stick and all my important files are missing....they r very necessary because it is something related to the distribution of salary of my employees...so kindly help me

Try unformatting it.
I've also had success doing this to restore lost files by deletion: Run a system restore. Go to start, programs, accessories, system tools, system restore, with your drive plugged in.
I can also recommend: Take it to a data recovery specialist, They can recover hard drive data, so maybe they can recover memory-stick data. I am not sure about this step, as it is not a hard drive.
DO NOT write anything to the drive before these steps.

Try downloading the trial version of Recover My Files. It can recover most file types and does work with USB sticks.

Ya don't. Although the memory stick operates similar to a hard drive. It ain't a magnetic device

I've used their software for a hard drive and it worked just fine. There's a FREE ONLINE trial in the RT hand corner of the website you cam attempt.
The site also says theres a alab you can send media to and they can work on it.

There are many un-format tools, do a search on google. DO NOT put any data onto the pen!!!!
