Thank you for the corrections...but I thought that Milagra would be proper for a girl and Milagro for a boy? I am considering it for a middle name. A little background...This is our miracle baby...we had a miscarriage 2 months before finding out we were pregnant with this baby and I am high risk, had a 50/50 chance of the baby living. Thank you for your honest opinions everyone who is answering! :)

Actually Miracle is MIlagro not Milagra. Unless you are specifically talking about a girl child. Anyway, I think it's pretty if it's Milagro but I wouldn't do Milagra.

I think it is very pretty and fitting! Remember that story about the girl who had infused legs like a mermaid? They were able to seperate her legs and now she can walk. Her name was Milagra/Milagro. They named her that because of the name meaning miracle. I'd go for it!

The proper name is Milagro, not Milagra. It's very religious. It means Miracle. I think it's not a nice name as it carries the weight of Catholic religion behind it and it also sounds very old fashioned. I think names that have no clear associations are better as they let children be freer.

Actually the proper name in Spanish is Milagros in plural (miracles). I like it.
And as a nickname you can use Mila (pronounced 'mi-lah) or Millie which I think are cute.

How about Regala Dios? Gift in Spanish is regalo, but I'd change it to
Regala for a girl, and Regalo for a boy!

Milagra reminds me of Viagra,(that erectile dysfunction drug), though I like the meaning of milagra. I just think it might cause the child to be teased by that rhyming connection of Viagra.

Good luck!

AS per above, it is Milagro. Not the 'healthiest' of names, poor kid.

Search google for a lovely variety of Spanish names if that is your inclination.

ok there is not a female name and masucline name for this name. the proper name is milagros. i know i alot of women with this name. milagra is just a name someone inveted one day. milagros means mircale./ ,milagra does not mean anything.
there are some words in the spanish language which when pronouns you need to change it from a masucline word to a feminie worsd and visa versa, but there are some words which are just masusline or femine. milagros is one of them.
that you want to change it , that is up to you, but it is not because of the language.

I like Milagra and I think Millie would be a cute nickname. I especially like it because it seems to have such special meaning for you. I think it's perfectly fine to do adapt the word Milagro and add the feminine ending-- it makes the name your own.

It sounds pretty but also sounds a little....masculine. Its a great idea though! Are you set on her having a spanish name? If not, you could use another language.
