Sarkozy is a social and economic liberal, he's only conservative where law and order is concerned. On the other hand, he's called for the US to lead the fight on global warming and actually proposed a lessening of the separation of church and state so that public money could be used to build mosques, to help the Muslim community become more cohesive so thay can have a more unified voice in French politics.

That's nothing like you'd hear from a US conservative.

And as usual, the reps on this board are clueless as to this man's policies, seeing only the obvious label of conservative.
There'll be some crying tonight among the neocons.

It's called a vote.

Look at what socialism has brought France, maybe then you'll get it.

Notice Germany made a similar decision. Europe, though slow on the uptake is coming around to reality.

Well, I think it was kind of protest ( clamor ? )
Honestly , I count the days , until they have another general strike. People on here compare American Conservatives with the Cons from France ( and Germany ) which is a big mistake.

The magic of democracy: It doesn't take the time, devestation, and loss of life of a civil war to resolve a transition of power.

The US is likely to complete a similar transition in 2008, just in the opposite direction.

I like Sarkosky, he does believe in global warming and is pro-American. He wants to do something about immigration and is not going to be a suck up to the USA.

They finally realized that socialism doesn't work. Now they have to get off their lazy butts and get jobs.
