I'm only at 35 weeks and my baby weighs 7lbs! The doc says if I go to term he'll be around 10lbs. Anyone have any experience with this and what are my chances of going early?

Well, it depends. It could mean that they got the wrong due date. In that case your chances of going early is more. Other than that, nope. You shouldn't worry too much. It is an estimation. Some people deliver with a 10 pounder just fine. It's kind of hard to determine how big your baby is or how much they weigh. When my friend was pregnant, her doctor told her that her baby was underweight. But at the end, it turned out fine, a 7 pounder. There are several cases where this has already happened. What I would recommend you do is to listen to your body. When it's time, your body will let you know.

Your doctor can only predict what your baby MIGHT weigh at birth. They told me at 35 weeks(through ultrasound) that my baby was already 7lbs. I had my baby 4 weeks later and he was 7lbs 12oz. Your doctor can't guarantee how much your baby will be, but you'll be fine even if he is a little more than 7lbs. Your baby will decide when he wants to come, whether it be late or early! Good Luck!

A dr's guestimate on what a baby will weigh is usually off.
I was told by my doctor that my baby would be huge...3 days before I had her my doctor said she was around 9lbs...later that day an ultrasound said she was 7lbs 0oz...3 days later she was born at 8lbs 4oz.
Its just a guess, I wouldnt worry!

OMG you poor thing that's a big baby. i can't tell you if you'll give birth early but i know that your baby's lungs aren't mature enough to be born now...well that's not completely true your baby would spend a lot of time in an incubator
