I certainly think he improved based on last year, but let's see if this year is the same, or similar, and whether it was teams not being able to adjust to what they thought the Saints were going to do. It could also be a product of the system and the coach. I was at Purdue when Drew Brees was, in fact I intercepted him once in a pick-up game, so I've watched him alot and i think it may be the fact that he's indoors now on a fast track that helps. Having the weapons he has can't hurt either.

Yes he was good at the Chargers but he hasnt improved hes been a great QB the last few years. The difference in the Saints is that he had some talent to throw the ball to. With the Chargers all he has was Gates and LT all the wideouts were just sad (and still are). With the Saints he had Bush and Duce to catch balls from the backfield. And two top wide outs (yeah Colston is a top wide out). Plus their OL is a better passing rushing OL while the Chargers OL is built to run block.
Hope this clears things up.
Imagine if the Falcons never traded Brees and LT for Vick....

He wasn't traded to the Saints. He was a free agent and he was already a very good QB with the Chargers. His stats did improve somewhat, but not significantly.

He seems to have more spotlight and focus now...

I think the biggest improvement is in the support he got from Coach Payton this year.

He will be a star for years to come now the Saints have some direction on the sidelines...

I think he may have improved some and he also happens to fit into the Saints system very well.
