I wanna know if anyone has any ideas on how to heal it faster? I have been told vinager and a paper bag, does this work? I have another question too. while I was waiting in my room for the Dr. the lady over safety at my job (she meet me and my supervisor at the hospital) told me that if the doctor want to give me perscription motron or tynanol not to except it just take over the counter versions and take more, while i know that 4 reg motron are the same as 800mg of rx motron, i just woundered if this is legal for her to do? She also STRONGLY reccomended that I not take the restrictions and just let the company work around them with the assurance that they would. I know she did this because it (the drugs and the restrictions) made it a recordable accident, but i still don't feel that it was right. She also told me that i don't need a follow up with my regular doctor and refused to make an appointment with the company doctor.

I can only answer your question about the sprained ankle. You should stay off of it for the next 24-48 hrs as much as possible, put an ice bag directly on the skin for 15 minutes every couple of hrs, NO heat, elevate your ankle above the level of your heart as much as possible until the swelling has decreased.

I badly sprained my ankle about 3 weeks ago. I was in a hurry going down the stairs, lost my balance and landed on a bad side of my left foot, causing my left ankle to be stretched going on the inside. The first 48 hours were excruciating and the pain was un-believable. I've never had a serious ankle injury before.

So I immediately treated it using the RICE method. The following day, the bruising and swelling were so horrible. I found out that I got a second degree sprain and immediately panicked after that. I had a football game on that week and it been looking forward to it because I've been training for rt. I had teammates that had similar injuries and it took them months to fully recover, some of them stopped playing altogether. So I kinda had a short-term depression because I can't imagine myself not being able to run and play sports anymore.

Because I was so desperate to recover again, I contacted a lot of people that I know who do sports and asked them if they had similar injuries. One friend of mine, from the boy's football team in my university, told me about H.E.M. Ankle Rehab. I got a copy 4 days after I got injured. I immediately read and followed what was instructed and felt improvement on the first day. I was able to walk a bit, but I was in pain.

A couple of days after that, the swelling and bruising were subsid-ing significantly and on the fourth day, I was walking comfortably again. Although I've had felt a bit of stiffness, I continued doing what was instructed. My sister was surprised that I have recovered this fast. I told her about this book and was shocked on how effective the procedures were. I'm just so happy that this book was shared to me and how effective it is.

Heal your ankle fully & fast?

This is in total violation of OSHA Safety guidelines and regulations. (They are the government origination that oversees work place safety..) This "safety" manager just basically told you not to document this accident.. No documented injury means no proof for a law suit ,and no OSHA report of the accident. No matter how small all work place injuries must be reported if you see a Dr. ...You call the Dr and get those scripts if you need to ..And see another Dr. to follow up on your injury... You should take pictures of the injury and call a work mans compensation lawyer and OSHA. The company is in direct violation of the law by allowing this, and at the very least the woman should lose her job. You also have grounds for a good civil suit. Don't let them walk on you ... It is also against the law for them to fire you because you report them.

your company is trying to save money at your expence. document everything that has happened and record any conversations you have concerning this matter. your company is going to try and fire you if you don't do what they say, I know because I worked for a company where I handled the work mans comp claims and they did the same thing to people who cost them money. As for your ankle, keep it elevated and put ice on it and DO NOT go back to work untill you are ready, MAKE SURE YOU DOCUMENT ALL OF WHAT HAS HAPPENED AND KEEP DOCUMENTING IT. Good luck.

No it isn't legal. If he gives you a prescription then you need to get it filled because then they will be required to pay for it. And yes you should use the company doctor unless he tries to force you back to work too early. Then you could go to your doctor for backup and possibly hire a lawyer if they don't do things right. You need to report that woman to the labor board........

RICE!!! Rest, Ice, Compress (wrap it), Elevate.

to prevent (and recover) from ankle sprains make sure to work on your balance. Practice standing on one foot, then do it with your eyes closed and/or turn your head from side to side while you do it. This helps train the "memory" of the muscles in your ankle.

The kind of therapy you can do on your ankle depends on if it hurts to put weight on it... don't stand on one foot if it hurts. you can use a rubber cord stuck in a door to strengthen different movents of your ankle too.

that doesnt work.....you need to elevate your ankle and keep ice on it for 20 minutes then heat for 20 minutes and do that for 2 hours.....and stay off of it as much as you can. that lady is nuts dont listen to her doctors know best so listen to him/her....seriously you could hurt yourself worse then wat you already have. and go to your follow up.
