A family with two young children was riding their bikes on a quiet city street in the bike lane. A guy in a fast sports car saw them coming and still decided to turn left in front of
them, going about 40mph and nearly hitting them. His license plate # was recorded, as was the car's description. Turns out he lives 1/2 a block from where the incident took place. Now, hypothetically and philosophically speaking, would it really be that bad to pour a couple of gallons of Jasco paint remover on his shiny black paint job? I'm sure the cops would do nothing if they were notified, maybe just "make a note of it". Obviously I know that it'd be against the law, so please don't reference the law. This is more of a tit for tat situation where a lesson needs to be taught to a young egocentric punk. Otherwise where is the justice in this situation?
Thanks...

Since you found him, I think paint remover might be a little too much. What you might want to do is just leave the guy a note on his car. make sure you include your phone number and how he can get ahold of you. You can say what he did wrong also. Oh, out of paper? That is ok, just key it on his car.

Paint remover might not do much, you could get oil based paint, hot pink would be fine, or better yet, tar and dump it on his car. Be careful not to get any on the ground, you wouldn't want to harm the enviroment. Make sure you leave a message of why he got paint all over his car.

Just make sure you do it in the middle of the night, and get rid of the evidence. Whatever you do, take the cans or bottles with you, and take them as far away as possible, and get rid of them. If you can, burn them, or throw them someplace where it is very difficult to get them. Or bury them. This is just in case someone did see you. Be smart, don't use your car, walk. park the car someplace else. Have a change of clothes too. basically, cover your butt.

The CAR didn't do anything wrong, why damage it? Go after the driver. That's who you should be mad at. But if you can't PROVE that he was careless and "nearly" hit someone, you'd probably do well to just be thankful that no one was hurt and just go on about your business.
Your little effort at revenge could turn into a nightmare.
I've heard of "small incidents" like this leading to shooting and killing. Don't ever underestimate just how much a minor act like trespassing or vandalism can escalate into a matter of life or death.

And finally, SINCE YOU WENT THERE:

Although I have often suspected that COPS TREAT SOME LAW-ABIDING AMERICANS, SHALL WE SAY, a little bit differently than some others, I'm stunned...stunned...I say... to see it just... out there,

"Notify" a COP? Around here that's a CONFESSION...it comes with a free a$$-whuppin'...

Clue the PO-PO ....in advance? That's "PREMEDITATION, for me, I guess.....

Discuss your motivation WITH.....FIVE-O..? eehh That's CONSPIRACY AND LYNCHING in this state.

DANG, and WE get accused of "PLAYING" something that I've never even seen .....called a RACE CARD? ha!

It depends. Firstly, was there any legal actions taken by the family against the guy? If there were, then justice has been served. Secondly, it depends on the brand of car. Pouring paint remover on a Lambo would cause much more monetary damage than if it was on a Mustang. If the car was European, keying the paint would be a much better option, if not, then drop the remover on it.

I think you should report him for driving to endanger, and perhaps knock on his front door and confront him.

Your solution is the worst thing you can do, and it gives a poor example and lesson for children!

It is not OK to knowingly commit a crime, and it especially isn't when their are young children involved.

I am sure the police would be happy to go with you to have a talk!

Their is no justice in your solution! Your justice perhaps! Would destroying property make you happy? Is this like road rage! Shall we all do things like you proposed when we have been wronged!

If you are that angry, go talk to someone before committing an irrational act, and crime!

Why punish the sports car? The car did not attack you. Did the car drive itself onto the roadway? Did the car attack your family? NO! If you want to be a man, take out your anger on the PERSON who caused the situation. Confront the the "young egocentric punk" and take him to school.

In my opinion no, the guy needs a lesson. Unfortunately, his insurance will most likely cover it. I think a heart to heart talk with some of the adults in the neighborhood might be more effective and less against the law.

The driver is an asshole, do you really think that peeling the paint of his car will change him/her? Yes it's unfair. Yes he/she deserves to be taught a lesson. But do not under any circumstance take upon yourself to seek revenge. Seriously, you want justice for what exactly? For an accident that didn't happen (thank god)...

Ae you a complete idiot?? It's not the cars fault that the driver is a jerk, better to document what happened in a letter, one copy to the driver, the other one to the DMV,or police dept.
Vandalism is the most stupid crime ever!!
