Seriously, do they think that money and power really buys them everything in this world and puts them above the law? If it wasn't so pathetic I would laugh hysterically!

Welcome to reality Paris....maybe you'll finally start to grow up now...a good reality shock was just what she needed don't you think? Awakenings come about for everyone in due time.

Considering that anybody who was NOT a celebrity would have been in jail before their second run-in with the law on an alcohol based charge, history has shown that celebrities are above the law--at least for a while.

Eventually, those that enforce the law realize that they cannot keep letting the celeb get away with their poor behavior, and so they go to jail. But who do you know that could be getting their second drunk-driving citation, and only NOW be given consideration for jail time?

At any rate, money and power really do put them above the law until either 1) it adds up to more times than is really prudent, or 2) people on the street start calling for blood. Both of these seem to be happening with Paris, or really, I think she'd get away with it again.

And honestly...I'd take even odds on Paris Hilton getting reduced jail time, put into a "country club" prison (you know, with all the tax-evaders and drug-kingpins with enough money to buy themselves minimum security prisons with tennis courts and pools) or even getting away with a week of community service (despite the sentence) like Naomi Campbell, or less, like Russell Crow.

As far as 45 days in jail--I'll believe it when I see it.

It is sad when you think about it. People like Paris Hilton are like aliens to the life we know. She has NEVER lived in the real world.

She does not have a high school education. She has never read a book. I am not sure she knows the name of the president of the U.S. She has no talent except porno tapes. Her vocabulary consists of "that's hot".

IF she ends up serving time, which I don't think she will, she will have a breakdown and be out five minutes after that key is turned in the lock.

What do you think goes on in her empty head?

Ok, now...who REALLY believes she'll see a day of jail? I mean really? She's got 'til June to report for her term, and an appeal in the process. She'll get a lenient judge who wants an autograph and skip on home to drink and drive some more.

Even if she DOES, by some small miracle, go to jail, she'll get out. Michelle Rodriguez, the actress, got a 60 day sentence to the SAME JAIL for an alcohol-related incident and was out in two days because of overcrowding.

I'll believe it when I see it.

I really don't think she will read what yahoo Q & A has to say. and what you say can only mean you are happy for alot of people.who have gone through the whole process of their lives being interrupted and seeing a fair shake in the deal.most of the upper class will cry about how much they have to pay and want more punishment placed on the pockets and lives of the lower class. I have heard them crying to their support systems and seen them jump through the hoops to save those lost up there. but we all fall on the same ground. have a nice day.

I think they are shocked because most of the time they ARE above the law. I mean look at the irony of this: Richard Gere in India, US public opinion thinks this is stupid, but it's the law. People don't want their favorite celebrates in jail, they go to rehab. They are for all purposes, above the law because WE want them above the law. Is it stupid? Yes. Who are the idiots who let it happen, we are. This is one of the main reasons I personally can't stand watching television.

That is exactly it. They live in a different world and money and fame usually can buy them anything they want so they think they are above the law too.

I consider you one hundred%. I labored in regulation enforcement for 23 years, and that i observed human beings spend extra time in detention center for much less fees than she has. It is going to coach you, a minimum of in California besides, that funds ought to purchase you out of something, and actual places them, regrettably to assert, above the regulation. i think of that any inmate who became sentenced to 40 5 days or much less for any correct can charge ought to have their sentences decreased to 0.5, purely like Paris Hilton. Why ought to they serve extra time than her? i'm not condoning liberating criminals, innovations you, yet whilst there is fairness in the California justice gadget, then be honest to all, not purely those with funds. That Sheriff in Arizona who makes inmates sleep in tents, no AC, and makes them consume MRE's provided to place Paris Hilton up in his detention center. i think of they should have taken him up on his supply. whilst he have been given performed together with her, she does not be so damned boastful and snooty, questioning she have been given away with breaking the regulation that all and sundry voters are anticipated to maintain on with. Lock her up, and make her do ALL her time!!

In her case, it's because she's a spoiled rich brat. Look at how her mother "babied" her after the hearing! A lot of these people are insecure with themselves to begin with and perhaps they feel that fame and fortune solves everything, and when they find out that's not how it is........

I always think it's poetic justice, when someone like that has to get a taste of the real life. Not, that she will. I would imagine she'll have it pretty easy in one of those "hotel" prisons. lol
