Hey, I myself live in Houston, Texas and want to be an actor.

My parents love that idea. Your mom will probably like the idea and if she doesnt -- go with it anyway =P

2. I dont know about the grades..

If it's something you really want to do then you have to approach your mom in the most mature way possible. Let her know how much you've thought about it, how you plan to go about doing it, research everything you can! You also have to understand that it takes money to get into this business and your mom may tell you that it's just not something she can do for you right now.

In answer to your other question, yes you have to keep your grades up. You have to be able to work independantly as a student. Before you can work on a set you have to obtain an entertainment work permit that your teacher must ok. He/she won't sign off on it if you're grades aren't good to begin with and they certainly won't let you renew your permit if you don't keep your grades up. If you are homeschooled then your mom would need to prove that to the labor board in TX before getting you an entertainment work permit.

As for acting school, I'm sorry but I don't live in TX. Maybe you can do a search for places near you. To get you started on what you'll want to look for, check out workingactors.com, click on actors, then go to training. Check out the ones with websites. You should also look into doing community theatre. It won't cost anything to do except your time and hopefully your mom will be ok with you starting there.

You may be able to find autition information on actorsaccess.com. For theatre, try backstage.com or http://www.actorsequity.org/CastingCall/castingcallhome.asp
Goodluck!
