I have been working at this place for about a year. I started as customer service and then they moved me to programming after they found out I am a computer science major. I haven't really been looking for jobs elsewhere due to being busy with school and work. Is this a good amount? I live in the midwest.

Wow thats an excellent salary, especially in the midwest and especially having just got out of school. Lucky! I am halfway through a IT programming degree right now and I can only dream about making that kind of salary when I graduate.

If your happy at the place your employed I suggest you take the new position and the amount and continue to work there for about 2 years and then look to see where your salary can get too with that experience.

The fact your company would offer you more money after they found out about your schooling makes them look like an excellent place to be employed.

It is hard to find a place to be employed that you enjoy and life is about living, having fun and really not just about dollar signs.

Yes, it's a very good amount. I agree with the previous answer though, look around before you actually commit to anything. If this company is offering 65k, imagine what another could possibly offer you.

Depends do you like the work environment? Do they have good benefits? What are the perks of working there? Just do a pro and cons list and figure out which is better for your situation. But ultimately you will have to decided if this is a place you will like to start out after college!!! But with them coming to you with an offer says a lot about you. Shows that they don't want to loose you.... You must be a great employee!!! And getting 65 K is not bad right out of College...But GOOD luck!!

That is a very good amount. Most computer science graduates typically start out in the high $40,000s or low $50,000s. You get the bonus of already having a job offer before graduation and a VERY HIGH starting salary. Congratulations!!!
