People fear what they don't know.

Mandatory religious studies part of all world history classes in high school, so people are at least educated about what they and other people believe. Also, sometimes it just takes knowing one in real life to ease fears; it's just that there aren't very many of them living here.

DITTO STAY B. Say it loud and proud

By muslims doing this (my question that Yahoo! won't post):
"Are you also waiting for a response to al-Zawahiri's latest video?
Since al queerda has "hijacked" islam, and since it is a peaceful religion, there should be a refutation of al-zawaqueery' latest rant, right?
Some respected cleric or theologian should be forthcoming with a scholarly refutation immediately, right?
It should be easy to do, if indeed terrorists are preaching an invalid or heretical brand of islam. Right? "

muslims need to ACTUALLY OPPOSE the terrorists, not just keep repeating "it's a religion of peace."

I don't fear Muslims. I don't care for the radical islamist and I'm not too crazy about the lack of disapproval of the radical Muslims from the so called peace loving Muslims. So it's up to the Muslims to convince us that they are worthy of our trust.

I don't think the American public fears Muslims. they fear terrorists, many of whom happen to be Muslims at this time. It would be foolish and unAmerican to fear all Muslims.

Americans, don't fear Muslims, we just happen to see the
examples, you all set, and have decided, that you are no
longer able to use the excuse that, Islam, is a religion of peace.

Same way we stopped them from fearing the KKK - shut them down.

For those of you who think Islam is just like Hinduism or Buddhism but that only a handful of radicals are doing violence in the religion's name, and that that violence has no support in the religion's founder's example (Hadiths) or his teachings (Koran), I invite you to read more on the subject.

You might start by googling Sura 8.12.

I don't all Muslims. I have several Muslim friends - never occurred to me to be scared of them. Of course, they aren't rabid fanatics, either....
