You will need to get at least about a 67 on your exam. But, it seems to me, with nearly a B in the course, you should be able to do much better than that. Why set your sights on only a C, when a B is within easy grasp?

Here's how to figure what grade you will need:

79 (.65) + x (.35) ≥ 74.5
51.35 + .35 x ≥ 74.5
.35 x ≥ (74.5 - 51.35)
.35 x ≥ 23.15
x ≥ 23.15 / .35
x ≥ 66.14

You could get a score as low as 67 and still get your 75 for the final grade, depending upon how your teacher rounds scores. With a score of 66, your average would be 74.45, not quite high enough to round up. Although, some teachers will round up depending on other factors, like class attendance or participation.

To receive a B, you will only need a score slightly higher than your current average.

79 (.65) + x (.35) ≥ 79.5
x ≥ (79.5 - 51.35) / .35
x ≥ 80.42

So, you will only need a minimum of about 81 on the final exam to get a B for your final grade. This is very doable, and you should go for it.

Receiving an A seems to be out of reach at this point, because it would require you to get at least 109 on your final, and then you would be sitting at only 89.5 for an average. Unless your teacher gives bonus points on the final, this is outside the realm of possibility.
