When Christopher Columbus came here there was no US of A. Now there is, and the borders of every nation must be respected. Just as Mexico does not allow 'ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION' so to must we. We have laws that are on the books and can if so desired be enforced. If you come to this nation do so legally and go through the proper procedures. If you have a child in this country, I don't give a r@t's @#s. Take the kid with you back to your own country. You should have thought about that when you were sneaking in here. My country doesn't owe you anything at all. Not a dime, not a single cent. I don't care if you come from Argentina, S. Korea, Japan, S. Africa, Spain or whatever other country you came from. If you didn't come here through legal processes then you better d@*% well go back.
God bless these United States of America. Land of the free, and home of the brave.
Later days.

To stop illeagel immigration we must first live in the real world. Columbus is not alive, the US did not exist when he did. This is 2007 and all the arguments that begine with , "in the past" are not relevent to the current situation. Now let's get on with solutions.1) stop all taxpayer funded benefits for non citizens, no health care no food stamps, no education funding, welfare of any kind. 2) jail all those who employ illeageals regardless of their political conections 3) deport without hesitation all illeagles arrested in this country. 4) keep track of all who are here on visas and when those visas expire ship them out, if they over stay their visas jail them for a time and then send them back. 4) Stop allowing the relitives of legal alians to come here, they deserve no special privelage and purhaps many would have second thoughts about coming here if they knew they would not be allowed to bring their families with them. 5) Build a wall and both the North and South borders, a double fence with a swatch of land mines a mile wide and ploaced every 6 inches(m make the violation of our borders a death sentence). Yes most cons are smart enough to consider Columbus a hero. He opened the new world to western civilization and the blessings that go with it. In so doing he set the stage for the creation of the US which has done more to advance the condition of mankind than any nation it suplanted. What puzzles me is that liberals are unabe to grasp that simple truth. Think about it, would the world have been better off if say the Chinese or the Nigerians, or the Hindus would have colonized the new world? Would the world have been better off if the indiginous population would have been left alnoe to continue their practices of human sacrifice and pre industrial poverty? Just how damn dumb are you?

Stop accommodating them!!! Why do I need to know Spanish to get a job in the USA with no international ties? Everywhere you go you see signs in English and Spanish..Why? It's not just Hispanics, though they are the majority, I mean this for all illegal immigrants.
These people can walk in any government facility in the state of GA with no ID or a basic command for the English language and get government assistance. Meanwhile, I'm forced to turn away Americans with no ID....Who's country is this?
Instead of playing the blame game on the US, why won't the government of these countries do something about their own. It should be an embarrassment to them that their people have to leave the country to make a living. Try cultivating some of their own land for farming, they need to market and push their exports.
There will always be illegal immigrants, but we don't have to have sooooo many. When you put that with the ones we're letting in legally, that's alot of overcrowding for one country.

Our immigration system MUST be completely over-hauled. It is ridiculous to accept an application and ask someone to wait 10 years for an answer. Having an improved legal immigration system will at least remove some of the excuses for (allowing) illegals. We must protect our border(s) and enforce our laws, but we also need to have a reasonable and reasoned system for immigration in place.

1. Secure all borders. (finish the wall across the southern border).
2. Establish an illegal immigrant job registry.
A. use the listings from those convicted of hiring Illegals already to devleop job titles, and places.
B. Grant any company amnesty for having hired illegals in the past, and have them document any current illegals working for them. If they dont comply, fine them and deport the illegals.
3. Hold the people that come here illegally at the border.
4. Give them a list of the jobs, if they want one, process them accordingly. And they'll need the following:
A. Green Card. so, that they are here legally.
B. Tax forms. Fill out deductions and tax accordingly. (we all pay taxes, why shouldnt they?)
C. Background check, if criminal, deport them. If not, allow them to enter.
D. Residency Status, Where they will stay during their time here. If found to have moved with no forwarding address to the agency, deport them.
E. Driver's liscense, with proof of insurance. All american drivers have insurance, so why shouldnt they?
Ther above steps will lead them to paying taxes, and through healthcare contributions, ease the stress we have on the system already. They get to work here. And we get the benefit of not having to do those jobs we dont like to do.
On kathy m's list, i agree with everything except #4.

Stop giving them free stuff !! education, health care, no taxes for earned income - everyone does not have the max 8 deductions, driving without auto insurance ends.
When Columbus & later all of my ancestors that came in the late 1700s & eraly 1800s, there was no immigration law. The country filled & the laws were passed. Some fill out the proper forms & legally enters the country & some sneak in, lie & cheat our taxpayers.
Hummm why do you think we do not want liars & cheats to come in by the hordes.
Where were you educated? get a refund.

So, your argument (made twice now) is that, since Columbus was "dangerous" and didn't have a green card, we should throw open our borders, allow millions more illegals to enter our country, send our money out of the country, strain our social, education and health services and avoid taxes?
You are a twit.

Did you post this same thing yesterday?
They don't consider Columbus a hero, he was European : P
I'm for stopping all illegal immigration and securing our borders, including the northern border and our coasts (which is often left out of the equation because so much resentment to illegals is really resentment to Mexicans and other latinos.) A terrorist can sneak into the country just as easily(if not easier) from Canada.

Columbus never set foot in North America, nor was there a United States in existance at the time. The Indians didn't sit idly by while they lost their lands- they fought and lost. Two centuries later, it's probably time that you came to terms with that. Anyone who feels strong enough to invade the current occupants of that land is welcome to try- we could use a good fight.
