Don't all words grumble meaninglessly in empty bellies? Try the same sentence with "Faith", and see what you get.

Is your belly empty? Have you given your ration of food to the hungry? Are you working with food banks and using all of your spare time toward abolishing hunger? Would you cut your child's portion of food in half to sponsor a hungry child? Are you homeless, jobless, being persecuted for your race, color or creed? Have you done everything within your reach to better yourself and family? Do you feel that no one in America can prosper? Do you know about all of the programs available to people in need? Who are you complaining for, yourself or someone you saw on the news? It's time to quit complaining about issues and start doing some thing about them. If you have a legal and legitimate problem, talk to your congressman, your church, your school organizations, go online to see what you, yourself, can do to prevent hunger. I'd have to say that democracy is trying to prevent empty bellies and grumbling means nothing. It's an honor to be an American citizen that everyone takes far too lightly!

I think it is safe to say that there are far fewer empty bellies where democracy flourishes than where anarchy, fascism, or totalitarianism reign.
But it begs the question. Are stable, functioning, prospering societies a result of democracy or is it the other way around - Stable, Functioning, prosperous societies foster democracy. I think the latter. It is a mistake to 'democratize' a country before ensuring that people have food, the electricity stays on, and the people are safe in the streets.

Democracy is a socialistic foundational design of policy only. Totally against what the real United States of America stands for. And that would be Liberty, Justice and True Independence.

the problem with democracy it relies on the premise that self interest equals the common interest. We seem to be headed to a point where people are ready stab their neighbour in the back at the first chance of easy money.

Totally true. The officialdom of the U.S. govt. doesn't give a damn about ordinary, honest, hardworking people, either in its own country or abroad. For them, it's about getting the people with goods you want to tap on your side with lies and big talk.
