You really only need to worry about the rh factor. Negative of positve. My husband is + and I am -. I had to get a shot of Rhogam at 20 week pregnant and another at birth. No complications at all.

If there are complications, it isn't from Rh incompatibility, which is what you're asking about. The Rh factor is the + or - after your blood type. I've been through this subject because I am Rh-. Complications come when an Rh- woman gets pregnant with an Rh+ baby. There are no issues with the first child. If untreated, the Rh+ calls can cross the placenta and the mother will develop antibodies to the them. In a second pregnancy with an Rh+ child, the antibodies can recross and attack the baby's blood stream. This can result in anemia or in severe cases death to the child. There is a shot to prevent this taken at 28 weeks gestation and again with in 72 hours after birth, if the child is Rh+. But if both parents are Rh+, there is no chance of this happening.

No it shouldnt cause any problems. O+ is a universal blood type. If the mother has O+ blood, it doesnt matter what the father is. Now if she was say, AB and the father was A+, they would have to watch for the Rh factor which is called the rhesus factor. And even then all the mother would need is a blood test to confirm and then a shot if it was off. Tell your friends not to worry. If the doctor isnt worried, neither should they be.

For Rh factors, it's no problem if both parents are positive or both are negative. The only potential problem is if Mom is negative and Dad is positive ... that could result in baby's blood being positive, and Mom's antibodies attacking the baby because they see the Rh factor as an enemy.
However, that's not guaranteed to happen, and the risk is manageable. That's one reason why you take a blood test when you get married, to know whether this could be an issue.
Both parents being O-positive (as in your question) should be no problem at all.

The main problem in blood type incompatability is if the woman's blood type is negative. (A, B, O or AB neg)
So if her type is O+ she should be fine.
Actually it is a bit more complicated then that and there are blood types other than ABO and the normal +/-. The OB will run a blood test on first visit. But from what you told me there shouldn't be a problem.

well my father and my mother are both O+ and my there were no complications wihen she was pregnant with my brother or me. i am O+ the father of my daughters is O+. the only thing that happened in my pregnancy was i delivered early. my girls were premature. but they were and still are very happy healthy babies. no fret. the blood types have nothing to do with complications in pregnancy. if either have any medical problems whether it be the mother or the father then there could be complications as their medical problems could be passed on the developing fetus.

No. If one partner has a negative RH factor, then it could cause a problem. In this case, the mother is given a shot to help prevent complications.

If the guy is + and the lady -, it may bring about problems in the 2d being pregnant. for the time of the 1st start the blood of mom and toddler come into touch.
