I am really not sure whether you are asking if stores will be accessible most anywhere you go in the U.S.; or if you are asking if the U.S. has open and wilderness areas where there aren't commercial areas. So, I will answer both aspects.

1) Most anywhere you go in the U.S. you will be able to access whatever provisions are needed. Cities of course are full of malls, large stores, small shops, and everything else. Even small towns have basic shopping and niche shopping. The only places where stores are not readily available would be in the places mentioned next.

2) The U.S. has numerous wilderness areas, open areas, farm country, forests and places such as this where you can go for many miles between settlements. In these areas, you want to make sure your gas tank is full, and that you have the things you need. Even these areas will have small grocery stores, and specialty stores, though not as readily accessible.

The further west you go, the more open areas they are, and the larger they are. In fact, visiting the U.S. and only touring the cities doesn't give visitors any idea of how expansive and open and beautiful the U.S. is! We may have a reputation (fairly earned) for being materialistic and commercial, but the U.S. has far more to offer than retail shopping! Get out into the country, mountains, and wilderness areas and really get to know what we are all about!!
