Recently bought a 2007 Ford Fusion. Want to keep it looking good for years. What's the best product for protecting the dash board and interior plastics from cracking and damage? Some people say Armor All can cause cracking.

Used to use something in a green bottle called Formula 2000 or something similar, for my Buick, and it did a fine job of keeping the dash looking good. Does that exist any longer?

Went to the horse's mouth, the Armor All web site. In their FAQ, they specifically state that Armor will not cause cracking of the dash, and it in fact prevents it.

I ALWAYS USE ARMOR ALL AND HAVE NEVER HAD A PROBLEM. I ALSO APPLY LEGAL WINDOW TINT AND USE A WINDSHIELD SOLAR PROTECTOR TO CUT DOWN ON ANY DIRECT SUNLIGHT ON THE INTERIOR, LEATHER, FABRIC , VYNAL, AND PLASTICS.

I believe a carpet kit is the best for the dash board that will come off and on. Go to a detail shop and ask for them what type of conditioner they use on their plactic items.

they make a product called 303 that is recommended for vynal roofs, interiors, and dash boards that protects very well, you won't get the shine of armour-all but it was recommended to me by a vynal roof specialty shop, he said to never use armour-all as it will not protect and will make the material crack.
