It's in Rockland Maine I think. But how close is Rockland to Bar Harbour or Portland. Are Bar Harbour and Portland the places that CAT goes from to Nova Scotia? I want to plan a vacation but want to include these things if possible. Tell me about bars and towns with nightlife. What's the Sunday law for beer, mixed drinks and wines? Crazy question I'm sure but I am from the Bible Belt! Help me decide please...

Yes, Bar Harbor is an awesome place to visit. If you like shopping and dining, there are many restuarants and shops there. If you like the outdoors/nature thing, of course you have Acadia National Park.

And, as the other poster has pointed out, the ferry does run from Bar Harbor to Nova Scotia.

Also, I would highly recommend you stop by Camden Maine on your visit. A really beautiful little seaside town, also with lots of dining and shopping.

I would also suggest flying into Boston. From Boston to Bar Harbor is about a 5 hour drive.

You might also consider flying into Manchester, NH, which will lessen your driving time a bit and many carriers do fly there.

As near as I can remember, there is no Sunday law for beer. At a minimum, you can definitely order beer and mixed drinks in restaurants on a Sunday. Pretty sure you can also buy beer, wine and liquor on a Sunday as well.

As far as bars/nightlife - it is Maine, after all. If you want real nightlife/clubs/etc., that's Boston. I think Maine is a little more sedate, plus there are lots of tourists there (during the summer).

Contact me through yahoo answers if you have any more questions. I love Maine and would be happy to tell you more. Actually, this past autumn, for the first time, I vacationed inland, in the area known as the Great North Woods. My dad and I hiked Mt. Katahdin, which is the northern terminus of the Appalachian Trail.

Here, while you are at it, whey don't you request a free travel guide to Maine:

The only question not answered for you was the alcohol laws. No alcohol can be bought in a store before noon on Sundays. Yes to the cat and either airport. Great area to visit. Beautiful this time of year. We are having some pretty awesome weather at the moment but it can be rainy through June and very very very very very humid in July and August but nearly always a breeze on the coast. We inlanders head to the coastal beaches to get a break because of the breeze. Your gonna love the Maine coast. I live her and I never get sick of it. Try hitting Acadia National Park if you can. about an hour to an hour and a half from Rockland.

if you're going to Brooklyn, i does not fly into Westchester. JFK and LaGuardia are nearer, and that could desire to even out the fee of airfare in what you spend on floor transportation. stable luck.
