How often should I go to the gym a week and how long should my cardio be? (I'm 5'3 115 lbs)

At 5'3", 115 lbs. is the perfect weight. Since you don't have much to lose it might take longer than a month. I would suggest only losing five pounds at the most and try to tone up.

Try to go to the gym 4-5 times a week. Your cardio should be long enough to warm up (five minutes) Then get your heart pumping and your body sweating (burning calories) for at least twenty minutes. Don't go by how many calories the machine says you've burned, they are usually inaccurate. You'll want to push yourself the hardest for another five minutes when you feel tired. This will increase your endurance and you'll be able to go longer and stronger next time. Next, cool down for a few minutes. Don't forget to stretch so your muscles aren't sore. Your total workout time should be 30-40 minutes plus stretching for 10.

Good luck but remember strength training is important too!

A healthy, safe weight loss is 1-2 lbs a week. So if you max out at 2lbs a week, 8lbs in a month is completely reasonable.

The biggest concern will be your calorie intake. Losing weight is basic math. Burn more calories than you take in.

So, my first suggestion for you is to track your caloric intake. You may want to limit yourself to 1200-1300 calories a day (see your doctor if you have any prior health issues).

Then, work out for at least 30 mins, 3x a week (cardio). In the long term, you may want to add some weight training to that, BEFORE your cardio workout.

Also, make sure you are getting in enough water (8 glasses a day), and I would eliminate any soda (even diet, it still has lots of sugar).

Its okay to have a cheat day once a week, just don't go overboard. If you follow this plan, I see no reason why you can't successfully lose the weight.

A fighter can lose 25 lbs + in a matter of hours. Anything is possible, but if you want to keep the pounds off, there is no simple fix. You have to make it your lifestyle. Remember that your diet is the single most important factor.

Visit the gym 5 days a week. Cardio every day for 30-45 mins. Or, just do what works for you.

Definetely! Try the Denise Austin "loose 10 lbs. in 28 days" book. It comes with recipes, shopping list, exercise ideas and daily notes of encouragement. Make sure to stick with it very closely, though and you will see the results fast. The recipes are simple and yummy! Plus, you only work out for 1/2 hour 5 times a week.

okay first of all you dont need to lose weight because you are exactly at the weight you suppose to be im 5"4 and i weigh 114lbs. but if you really want to loose weight exercise once or two times a day. eat healthy foods, no coke, no extremley sugary stuff, and walk or run or jog or whatever about a mile or two. im on my school's track team and i lost 25lbs in 3-4 months. because i ate nothing but junk food but when i started to eat healthier i had a lot more energy to do activities, i am also a dancer and a soccer player and i learned that exercising and eating nothing but healthy foods really help. see like a seventeen or cosmogirl magazine they tell the right foods to eat

I lost 12 pounds just by cutting out "bad carbs" and eating mainly lean meats and vegetables. I guess you can say its the South Beach Diet, but it's really just eating healthy. I eat very little fruit, no pasta, rice, bread or anything like that. No sweets. My husband and I just eat egg whites and turkey bacon for breakfast, a salad for lunch and meat & veggies for dinner. We eat chicken, ground turkey, lots of fish, and lean steaks. I honestly don't excercise that much...besides chasing after my 10 month old. I have a little more weight to lose than you, but i'm down 12 pounds in 15 days. Good Luck!

I did it right after I had my daughter. I was 105 before I got prego, then I shot to about 140 at 9 months. I lost all the weight after only about 2 weeks or so. I ate Lean Cuisine meals and light snacks...it worked for me. Plus I didn't have much of an appetite after I had her, so I think that helped too. Good luck!

Oh my goodness, did you just have a baby and your down to 115? *eyes you jealously* Im also 5'3, trying to get down to 115 again. Your best bet is to go to the gym and speak with a trainer, they would know the best workout for you. 8 lbs doesnt seem impossible to lose. Good luck!

You probably want to do cardio 4-5 days a week for about 45 minutes. Toning is important as well. If you take 200-300 calories off your normal daily intake that helps as well.

Why do you want to lose 8 lbs? Your weight is fine.

But to answer your question 1-2 pounds a week is safe and healthy.

Go at least 3-4 days a week. I always went for 45 minutes and alternated one day cardio and one day strength training.
