definite, from the Humane Society. She were abandoned on the edge of a hectic street and pregnant. She had a clutter of 11 doggies, taken care of for heartworms two times and then spayed all interior her being a 365 days old. I saved her and he or she lived until eventually 15 yrs of age. She had a bad first 365 days, yet I made valuable she had a stable 14 yrs. Ubu is long gone now, yet not forgotten! After 5 years I nonetheless have her 'paw print' in a physique on my bookcase.

Last year my neighbour called saying there was a baby hedgehog stuck down her drain. The poor thing was drowning. Anyway, her hands wern't small enough to fit down the drain. So, I went over and put some gloves on, I put my hand down there and brought him back into the light. I fed him, cleaned him and we called a nature sanctuary and they came and collected him. Now he has a nice home.

Another time, we had spotted some rabbits being mis-treated. The family had been on holiday and left the Dad to look after them. We opened the cage, and shock. No food, no water, no bedding. 3 dead baby rabbits. All the rabbits were shaking from being left in the cold overnight, all huddled up trying to keep warm. There was no stopping me and my sister. We took the rabbits, brought them to my house...we cleared out the shed. We drove to Tesco - brought hay, food, a water bottle, treats and toys. Gave them a loving new home, had them neutered, then we found them nice new homes. Now they are safe, happy and much better off!

I love animals. I'll continue to protect and do anything and everything I can.

I am very pleased to tell you I have saved approximately 500 animals over the last month. The pond at work went through a desperate near-dry spell and the frog spawn nearly bit the dust. However, through considerable TLC and attention the spawn hatched into loads of tadpoles and are now becoming little froglets. Happy days!

Me and my sister saved a turtle once. It was a huge snapping turtle in the middle of the road and we almost hit it. There was a big bus coming along a ways down the road and we knew the bus would most likely kill it or hurt it bad. We didnt have anything to get it out of the road with (and we couldnt pick it up because it was a snapping turtle and he probly could have taken our hand off!) so my sister grabbed her windshield scraper from the trunk and tried to push it out of the road with that. It was snapping at the scraper. Two guys from across the street saw us and ran over with a shovel. They got it on the shovel and then placed the turtle in a grassy area a ways off the road.

And my brother once saved some kittens. My moms neighbors cat got into my moms house one time and ended up having her kittens underneath the couch without us knowing about it. My brother heard some mewling later on and lifted up the heavy couch all by himself (hes a strong guy) and told me to look under there. Turns out one of the newborn kittens had gotten stuck under one of the wooden couch supporter things. We moved it and the other kittens (even though the mom cat was a little angry) and all the kittens turned out fine. We ended up keeping the mom cat (cause the neighbor didnt want it anyway) and finding homes for all the kittens.

Another time there were a bunch of neighborhood cats in the field behind our house. We went over to see what was going on and there were all these newborn bunnies there. The cats had killed all of them but one. The mom bunny was dead so we saved the one that wasnt killed and took it home. We had to feed it with an eyedropper because the poor thing didnt even have his eyes open yet. 2 days later, he had one eye open but he died the next day. We did everything we could though. Poor little thing.

I was 7 when I found a little kitten in the park near where I live, during a hard rain !She was all wet and hungry so I took her home and I feed her with a syringe cause she couldn't eat by herself! When she grew older,I found her a good and loving home .
I love animals very much and whenever I have the chance to help them I do it!I often take stray animals home, take care of them and then find them a home!

Several times....I'm big on animal rights.

1. lil sis tried to run over a bug on her tricycle when I was 5. I held her back and saved the bug.
2. First grade, I found a bird with an injured wing. I told my mom and she said I could help her. We kept her in the house in a cage til she healed. Every day, I dug for worms in the back yard to feed her.
3. 3rd grade, my dad's co-worker was building a new house. As they were digging, they hit a salamander's tail. I kept him to be sure he's be okay. After the bleeding stopped and the skin healed, I let him go.
4. 4th grade, a tiny baby bird fell out of his nest. I put him back. The mother rejected him, so I fed him out of a medicine dropper and kept him warm. Every day I'd try to get the mom to take him back. Eventually, he got stronger and she took him back.

I'm sure there's many more, but I'm out of time.

I tried to rescue a pidgeon when I was a kid.
The ungrateful flying rat simply crapped all over my bedroom stank the place out and promptly died after a suitable interval.

If you're gonna rescue an animal, be sure and pick a non stinky non useless non crappy one; preferably endangered as well! :-)

Common pigeon, broken wing, this week-end. D*mn animal shelter would'nt even try to keep it alive, so I spent some time researching the Care and Feeding of Pigeons. The bird must've been OK, 'cause it was gone the next morning...

Yes, we have a golden retriever that was rescued from a student in a bedsit, this spiteful monstrous girl who was so cruel to her she almost died, she was burnt very badly under her chin and stomach with cigarettes, beaten so badly with a huge plank of wood it broke her back leg, had never been outside of the bedsit for weeks and was then beaten for fouling her bed, it took us months to bring our dog round to some sort of normality because she was so terrified of women but with lots of love, care and attention 10 years on she is the most beautiful, loyal friendly dog you could meet.

I live in the rural south, so yes, I've saved lots of animals. Baby bunnies, birds, squirrels, racoons, deer, kittens. Even a parrot when I was at Six Flags in Atlanta.
