Do you think that spending some time in jail would be good for Paris Hilton? I think she needs to grow up. Being spoiled and rich has enabled her to continuously pay attorneys to deal with her screw ups. But whether rich or poor, sooner or later, you have to grow up and maintain a certain amount of responsibility.

Yeah, I think so. I think SOMEONE needs to give her a taste of the real world instead of parties, boys, Chicuauas, and shopping. Just because she has money and think shes cute, which she is not, doesn't mean she can get away with everything. She is a human too.....I think. Shes no one special to let things slide. I hope this teaches her a lesson that money cant buy everything

A sentence of 40 5 days for Paris isn't even on the edge of two a million/2 years for Scooter Libby who became unjustly convicted. If I had requested you what you stated to somebody a 365 days in the past and in case you gave me fake tips considering you do not have complete keep in mind, then in accordance to prosecutor Fitzgerald, you would be a liar and subject to a detention center term.

Maybe, maybe not. I doubt that it's going to have much of an impact on her.

However, it may have an impact on young girls who look to her as any sort of a role model. It is not good for society in general when someone publically and consistently violates the law and endangers others but is never held responsible.

I have nothing against PH, I don't really think about her at all. But given that she's been a poster child for the spoiled and entitled, I don't think it's a bad thing for the public to see her held accountable for her actions.

I hope she does go to jail. Not everyone has the funds available to pay attorneys to get out of situations. I am tired of those who can afford the big time lawyers getting away without punishment.
It may help her grow up some but I fear she will take the "victim" role and use it all to her advantage.

Yes, it is definately good for her. Just because she is rich doesn't mean that she is above the law. No matter how much money she inherited she is still just a regular human being and needs to stay out of trouble. Drinking and driving kills people every day and it should not be done by anyone at all - including her!

No kidding. She needs to learn the difference between RIGHT and WRONG. When you are rich, you DO have to respect the law like all of the other 'small' people. She is a complete spoiled brat and some time in the slammer will do her a hell lot of good.

Time to pay the piper Paris .

But really it will be somewhat easier for her. They will keep her segregated away from the population and you can bet daddy and mommy will see to it that she has a few creature comforts as well.

I really don't think jail time will help much; She strikes me as having little regard for anything but Paris and what Paris wants.

BUT

Kudo's to the judge who sentences her !!! We should have more judges like him/her.

I have mixed feelings about this. I just don't think the average non-violent criminal would get this much time for this offense. Having said that, I do think she needs to learn a lesson. It is uncool to drink and drive. period. Maybe she should spend some time in a morgue viewing dead victims of drunk drivers.

Spending time in jail will unfortunately make her even more popular. Hollywood loves giving people exposure for being naughty. I guess that's how they get their kicks; out of negativity and from people making a complete fool of themselves.
