Well, usually you don't serve much at a Super Bowl party since most of the food is chips, drinks, wings, etc. Usually, the guys get what they want themselves. But if you're looking to be a good host, the guests are always first in ANY party.

The guests always come first-they are your guests! You want them to have a blast at your party so that they want to come to your next party. It's all about pleasing the guests, tell your husband to stop being a selfish lazy bum. If he is throwing the party, why are you serving the guests? Shouldn't HE be serving the guests if he is throwing the party? Just some food for thought? If he did what he was supposed to as the host, you wouldn't have to ask your question.

Always serve the guests first. By the way, the super bowl was MONTHS ago! Are you planning for next year or is this something you have been carrying with you?

I feel that if the husband is throwing the party, the husband should be serving the guests. If I invite my guys over, I don't expect my wife to wait on them.

Since he is throwing the party tell him to get off his lazy butt and serve himself and the guests. Put the food out and let the guests eat what they want. There is no serving. Finger food is all we want at a superbowl party. Stop being such a slave and a sucker to your husband. I'm sure you get him his beers too? UGH!

I would go with the "Guest's" first, but explain to your husband before the party that your going to serve them first, because they are company, then you'll serve him, so he doesn't get offended, you know.....Because if he's a "Gentleman" he will insist in front of his "Pal's" that you serve them first anyway, and this way your speaking to him first, will save you the imbarrassment, of him saying "no" to you, should you serve him first, especially in front of them..... Have Fun!! I just love "Super Bowl" parties, even though I have never understood or cared too understand football !!! My sister always throw's a party every year!! They all get it, but "Me" never!! Oh well, the parties are plenty fun, especially "Half Time" we would play Pantamimes, and we'd all have to guess "Movie" "Song" or another one I cant remember.. And we'd watch the "Funny Commercial's" in between, and have lots of "Good Eat's"!!! Anyway, you guys have "Great Fun!!" Smile!!!

It depends on what age group (generation) you represent.

I've listed only the service etiquette expectations of the 3 most prevalent generations of women, and only those actions that appear in at least 90% of women in each group.

My Grandmothers Generation - Serve husband first

My Mothers Generation - Serve guest first

My Ex-Wife's Generation - Serves Nobody. After serving her complains that in 10 hrs. of cooking for the event I could have, at least made one thing she likes. With 2 min. left in the game, stands in front of the TV, upset about the mess, demanding, that it be cleaned up NOW.

The guest...Actually your husband should be serving at his OWN party...What are you, your husband's slave?...Your husband probably won't give you much warning that some of the guys are coming over...So, teach him a little lesson in respect for you...

Well he should serve his guests and himself. But if you are the kind of wife who does that then you always serve guests first.
