What do you think the world would be like if slavery were legal?

Growing up I used to ponder this question a lot. Slavery along racial lines seemed horrible, but I could imagine a society where slavery were legal.

Knowing my personality, I would probably end up being a housemaid for a family. Where do you think you would end up in such a world?

I shudder to think of it--slavery legal again! I would probably end up a floor scrubber.

Slavery is still alive and well ----- It has just changed its" form.
Are you a "slave" to your job ? --- millions are ---and very unhappy --- BUT ! --- they can quit , or can they really ?
The military is full of people that "signed on the dotted line", and now must march to the beat of another drummer. Can they quit ? --Hardly.
The U.S. prison system is loaded and ready to burst at the seams, with over loading,double stacking, and various other programs like house arrest , work release ,halfway houses,etc. These people do more than just make car plates -- a lot more, Can they quit ? What"s your guess ?
I would want no part of a world that has slavery as a "norm".
I would propably wind up as a "freedom fighter" against it.
Freedom is all important --- it is what makes life ---with-out freedom --you might as well be dead.
I have the same feelings on this point, as Patrick Henrey said on the gallows long ago : "Give me liberty , or give me death".

Thank the Creator that people are free. Why go back in time? History has shown what life was like for slaves.

I would be an abolitionist (people who risked their lives to hide and free slaves)

edit: you wouldn't want to be a houseslave, as they were the first one's to be raped by "master"
