This Shipman person is England's version of Kevorkian. Actually, some might correct me in saying that he was more of a serial killer than a euthanist.

I don't know what Y!A means but Shipman was the doctor (general practitioner) who murdered old folk in his surgery or on his rounds.
Hes was jailed a few years ago and committed suicide a couple of years after.
