Do they really want "anarchy" or are they just rebelling against mommy and daddy?

To the first poster, I understand the anarchist "movement". First off nobody can agree what "anarchy" really entails. There are varying views but you aready knew that because you're so smart....

Actually I AGREE !! Few truly "oppressed" kids are familiar with Marx or any texts that describe "anarchism", "socialism", or other "-ism's" !!

Actually, an INTERESTING bit of reading is John Jake's historical-novel "Homeland" where the son of a wealthy brewer rails against his "capitalist-pig" father.

I certainly SEE that sort of crap here in the San Francisco Bay Area... the moody, angst-ridden "anarchists" of UC Berkeley who then take their scooters home to their nice little dorm rooms or apartments paid for by Mommy and Daddy.

The most liberal person I knew was a gal who lived on her trust-fund and ranted about the WTO, World Bank, Republicans, Capitalist-Pig CEO's, etc... and then would go to shop at Nordstroms, Macy's, and high-end vintage shops driving her little BMW convertible home to her $1500 a month gated-condo !!

1 - They have the time to indulge themselves, and brother, if there's one thing the kids know how to do, it's indulge themselves!

2 - The latter; true anarchy would see them curled up in fetal positions screaming "Mommy!" or "Daddy!"

The best thing to do with these kids is to video 'em now doing their "thing" and show the video to future dates and, especially, future prospective spouses. Maybe then they'd have the brains to raise their own kids in a way that results in them being young adults rather than spoiled brats. One can hope, right? :-))

I think that you already know the answer to that question. They are rebelling and since they haven't had a harsh life they try to create one. Don't just think of the suburbs some of the rich kids in urban areas are the same way.

It's because they have no challenges to overcome, therefore they're bored. They have nothing to strive for. Plus, their parents are often hard-working individuals who 1) have little time for their children and 2) believe that their kids will sort themselves out, since they were self-made people who sorted themselves out logically their kids should too.

I think you are stereotyping the anarchist movement because actually understanding it would be too difficult for you.

Not that I agree with anarchism, just that I disagree with your lack of rational thought.
