Is $39.99 a month for cable worth it? Is the $16 for a Sunday Only newspaper subscription worth it? is the $49.99 for x-box live worth it? Is the $39 worth it for your monthly cell phone? Is the $12+ for a movie worth it? Is $2500 for the Super Bowl Ticket worth it? Is $5 a month for Runescape worth it?
What is a suitable price of entertainment?
Its rhetorical question cause there is NO RIGHT ANSWER. It is subject to the viewpoint of the user. YOU. Choose the one that makes you happy and "Enjoy it."
I pay $15.00 a month for WoW I enjoy it immensely. Blizzard does a wonderful job at creating and managing this game. I play it instead of watching cruddy reality TV shows and take my own commercial breaks...
Its a well made game that is very engaging. The value is about the same as a well made movie, but I am the center stage and so are my friends. The graphics are really nice and the game-play levels are diverse and intriguing.
My advice is to get the trial version and see for yourself. If you don't like it, don't buy it and put your entertainment dollars to work on something else that makes you happy.

I think its more then 8.99 a month. Either that or they have been over chargeing me.
If by living the happy life, you mean instancing and having a fun guild (group of people that have come together for community and making it easier to find groups) Then yeah, I would say find yourself a nice newer PvE or RP PvE server and have a go at it.
(you can get a 10 day free trial on their website to see if you will like it, and you don't have to buy BC (the burning crusade) untill you have reached the lvl 60 cap and want to get further in the game.)

YES IT IS!!, i and YES, it is only 8.99 a month if you buy months with the 12 month plan ( buy 12 months at a time for 8.99 a month) There is no doing nothing... you cannot level in the game if you do not kill animals and creatures and other humans.. :P so if you dont like that dont spend it :)

Hi Alice,
I'm afraid I don't really understand your question, but I'll give it a shot.
WoW does have several role-play designated servers, where emphesis is on (or it's supposed to be, anyway) role play. Regardless, combat is a large part of play, regardless of what server you play on. If you are interested in WoW, but not really into combat, I think you'll be dissapointed. You're really not going to get the total experience out of the game unless you're questing. It'll also be difficult to meet and make friends with people unless you group or join a guild.
Just something for you to kick around and keep in mind. My suggestion would be Sims rather then WoW.
Good luck either way!

Um, well, if you're thinking about buying it just for the social aspect of the game, it's not worth it. It's not Second Life. You need to fight and level up in World of Warcraft, otherwise you'll get chewed up and spit out by the environment. WoW is NOT for casual gamers.

It's Not $8.99, it's 14.99/month. I don't think it's worth it, but try Final Fantasy 11 Online, some versions come with all the expansion packs, and you get the first 30 days free, so if you don't like it, you don't have to pay after the 30 days.

Most WoW prices are more than 8.99 by teh way.
If you are just going to be a social player, I wouldn't recommend WoW. Its a game, and its not increadible well know for its social aspect.
There are free MMORPGs out there that are more social. You just have to find one.

It's worth buying, but you can try the 10-day trial on Worldofwarcraft.com.
Just remember: IF YOU BUY A MULTI-MONTH SUBSCRIPTION and decide to quit, Blizzard will NOT refund your money, however, they will let you play on your account until your subscription ends.
