I've been predicting a Republican Presidential Landslide in the 2008 elections because I have much faith that people will have awoken by then(many already have) and will be tired of the anti-Americanism of the Democratic Party . And now, Big Surprise, even the French were tired of their own cowards . How refreshing is that !!

But I ask you, will you vote for a candidate who says he'll provide ambulances if America gets attacked again (Obama foolishly answered this way, as his response to what to do if we get hit again) ?
Will you vote for a candidate who tries anything to play both sides of the fence ? ( Hillary Clinton)

Or
Will you vote for a unifying, yet tough and honorable candidate like Fred Thompson ?

Awww. I was hoping for a song Earnest. It's been a while you know??? LOL

Anyway, Hillary and Obama are out of the question. I don't even think their names will be on the ballot.
I only know one thing right now, I will not vote for a coward!

I might have a new respect for the French, now that Cherac is out! Just another example of a Socialist Government that didn't work... ( are you listening Hillary?) I guess the young French will have to get off their duffs now, and GET A JOB!! I missed Obama's statement about the ambulances.. sort of glad I did too..& Hillary will slide off that fence, quick, fast & in a hurry...she will ultimately "shoot herself in the foot" I like Thompson, so far, but he needs to get more exposure & a little more "hunger" for the race..I think, overall, we now really need to hear the Republicans start to rev up their engines...there are some good men out there.....

Well, my vote is still out, subject to much research and observation.

But I can tell you one thing for sure. Anyone allied with either the democrat or republican parties is under severe scruitiny. The starting assumption is they are liars and opportunist and have no moral back bones and will sell out the people for the party in a heart beat.

Now, anyone that can PROVE they are not those things move up to the status of a NULL CANDIDATE who then can have the opportunity to prove to me why they should get my vote.

I like Fred Thompson as a person and an actor...but so far he hasn't doen anything that proves to me that he is going to actually defy the party and be a conservative activist in the office of the president.

In my view, if you ally yourself with traitors to the conservative cause, then that is already two strikes against you. You cannot exist in the two party system without owing so much that your future is mortgaged to the political class.

Many think that to vote out of the two party system is a waste. I view it differently. That viewpoint has gotten us into a situation where the two parties have different philosophies but ACT THE SAME WAY WHEN IN POWER.

I believe that to vote for someone that does not agree with your conscience and who is indebted to the people that voted for them is a waste of my vote.

I won't waste my vote ever again!

I expect the new French Prez will have his hands full. I anticipate riots and insurgency from the disgruntled neo-commies and already angry Muslim youth in the country when he tries to trim the perk and entitlement programs that all the slackers have learned to love there. It will make good TV!
I will vote, I guess, for whomever the Republicans nominate like I usually do, on the gut feeling that the worst possible GOP man has to be light years better than the best democrat/socialist person. I have hoped and prayed for the awakening of the 'sleeping giant', but I will have to wait and see. I am hoping that all this early exposure and hoopla will do the dems more harm than good.

That sweet smell that has hit your nostrils is the lavendar fields from southern France. The new French leader has stated that France will keep its independent stance in foreign policy despite its pro-American economic leanings. That means don't expect France to join as a dwindling member of Bush/Cheney's "Coalition of the Willing". As for Fred Thompson, his health has come into question since he's undergoing treatment for cancer. If he has some flexibility on the issues and some much-needed intelligence I would consider him as a viable alternative to the current ultra-conservative administration.

I dare say that we have maligned the French. It would appear that about 1/2 of them are cheese eating surrender monkeys while about 1/2 of them are normal people. Very much like the USA, only right now our surrender monkeys are running Congress. I always like that gooey cheese as well.
I could vote for Fred Thompson. He would not be my first choice, but we could do a LOT worse.

Looking over Nicolas Sarkozy politics he strikes appears to be much more of an Independent then he does a Liberal or Conservative.

And I find it quite curious that with the election of just one individual, many who once saw the French as cowards and traitors, suddenly become so forgiving.

It's all very interesting.

I agree with you although the idea of France with a backbone is something that will take a couple of years to sink in. Maybe they might actually win a war(I joke... not really). However I do disagree with you on one thing I think that Mitt Romney would be better than Fred Thompson.

Oh Earnest! I much prefer your songs. But since you brought it up.....I do not see how any Republican nominee will have a chance, not to mention be a "unifier" for America. I am still listening to the debates, I even watched some of the Republican one yesterday. Nobody, from either camp, has my complete support at this point. I want to listen and learn as much as possible from all potential contenders, before I support one.

well when Obama was asked about the Shia/Sunni Situation he replied.."I thought they were muslims", that doesn't give me a lot of faith in his thought processes, lol.
I do somewhat like Hilary though, just because I think if we were attacked I do believe she would retaliate in a "conservative" manner. lol

But As for Fred Thompson, if he gets up to the Primaries than he's got my vote.

Obama is still trying to decide if he's white or black. As far as knowledge of foreign affairs, forgetabudit. As for Hillary, what is the terminology for a 'reverse carpetbagger'. One of her campaign 'promises' last year was that she would be a full-time senator if elected. Now that she is elected, she wants to be president (translated that means she will only serve 2 years of a 6-year term as a NY senator - hardly full-time or full-term). I wonder how many New Yorkers who voted for her feel 'used' or 'stepped on' as in 'stepping stone'? If Hillary is the Democratic candidate in 2008, it is my hope that she ends up like the French female socialist whose opponent got 53% of the vote.

Fred has got my vote.
