No. Nor have any been observed by the Soviets/Russians. There are none there.

Don't believe everything you see on TV or everything you read on the Internet. There are too many looney-tunes out there looking for their 15 minutes of fame.

What the U.S. astronauts and Soviet cosmonauts saw on the far side of the moon was that it was much more heavily cratered than the side that faces the Earth. Check out the photos at the sites listed below:

Having one whole side of the moon not visible from Earth makes it possible to make up all kinds of things that are difficult to verify / discredit. The back side of the moon has been throughly mapped down to high resolution during the Apollo missions. Nothing but craters and rocks.

The fact that it is difficult to disprove makes it mysterious and a wonderful place for fantasy and fiction. Given everything we do know there is no sign of any activity or structures on the moon that we didn't put there. It is a totally lifeless place.

at first, in case you're below the impact that the edge of the moon we under no circumstances see is often dark, that is easily incorrect. The moon is a sphere, a ball, a globe. The solar can only shine on one 0.5, of course. yet over the direction of a lunar month (approximately 29 days) all the products of the moon gets image voltaic. in case you're asking no count if the unlit area of the moon is seen, definite, at times, fairly before each and every thing crescent, purely after new moon. try to be in a gloomy place to work out it. pondered mild from the vivid sunlit halo of the of Earth's ecosystem, is seen as a faint, greenish glow on the dark area of the crescent moon.

Well it is true that one side of the moon is always facing earth, but the Apollo missions gave a glimpse at the far side of the moon and there isn't anything special about it.
