My mollie has been eating all of her food but over the past few hours, has been resting on the bottom of the tank on the gravel.

She can still swim but she will retreat to the bottom of the tank. Why is this and what can i do to stop it?

Should i add more salt to the water?

It could be any one of several things. Mollies do well with about 1 tablespoon per 2 gallons of water, but that probably wouldn't cause the activity you are seeing. Check the tank temperature to be sure it's in the 75 - 85F range and also check the ammonia levels if possible.

If this is a female Molly, the possibility exists that she is about to give birth and is seeking shelter.

As long as she is eating and swimming normally when she moves around odds are good that there is nothing serious wrong with her.

If the only difficulty precise it somewhat is overfeeding, s/he ought to be ok. the placement is he may be constipated (specific, it ought to take place to a fish!). if it is going to devour, attempt feeding it a tiny piece of a cooked eco-friendly pea for some fiber, and right this moment it the the remainder of the day. And contained quicker or later, basically feed what the fish can devour in 2-3 minutes 2 cases an afternoon. If what you have been feeding is flake nutrition, there's a raffle it ingested some air as nicely. this may be what's inflicting it to show over. If there substitute into any better nutrition left contained interior the tank it could be bumped off or it ought to foul the water.

Sometimes fish will do this. There is nothing wrong with this unless it persists over several days. Then I would check your water quality. Good Luck!
