i am moving and trying to clean the metal around the burners how do i do that?

If you are talking about the metal drip pans under the burners which tend to get all kinds of burnt-on junk on them there is an easy solution. Take them off and bring them into either a hardware store or one of those Dollar Stores. Then get a replacement set to match them and toss out the old ones. At a few bucks apiece replacing them is less effort.

If you want you can first just wash the metal pans and then wrap them in tin foil. Hides the mess and makes for easy clean up next time.
If you are talking about the burner itself by chance. Like maybe melted plastic by chance, you can turn the burner on to begin melting and scrape with a knife. May smoke and smolder for a while but will burn it off.

Just let them soak in a degreaser and if that don't work you can buy new ones there inexpensive. What ever you do don't scrub to hard on the ones you have or you will take the paint off. Good luck

I spray mine with 409 then soak in comet, then I use a scrub pad and it usually comes off.

Since you are moving it's better [and faster] to just go to the local dollar [el cheapo] store and buy new ones.
