i've heard that if you have a problem with a real estate agent, you talk to their broker...but what if your problem/complaint is with the broker of the real estate firm. who is the next in line to voice your complaint? just a random thought. it may prove useful in the future!

You could try their city professional association (e.g., chicago association of realtors), then their state association (e.g., illinois association of realtors), then the national association if they belong to any of these. You could also try your state government's consumer protection unit (whatever department/title it is in your state).

There should be a local Board of Realtors that the broker would belong to if he/she is a Realtor. The state also has a licensing board you can complain to. Also, if the broker is a member of a franchise corporation, i.e. Prudential, Coldwell Banker, etc. you can complain to the Company that holds his/her franchise.

You can call the local board of REALTORS or your state Real Estate Commission. If you complain to the franchise it usually does no good. As long as they get paid they really aren't very motivated to take any action.

The above poster is correct. You contact the local real estate licensing board.
