By taste I mean style-witty, sarcastic, slapstick, etc. and by evolving I mean it starts at one stlye and progress, implying there is a spectrum and certain people have only made it so far along that spectrum.

I think humor is a matter of taste and explosure. If you have experienced a situation the person is talking about than you can relate, if not you are lost.
As you live longer and see more I guess you do progress because than you have a more witty, or dry sense of humor, you learn 2 laugh at life.

I think your humor is passed down from family. Or someone you spend alot of time with. My father and sister and I have the same humor, and now my son does too...

both, some things that were funny when we were 10 are not funny now. Some things still are funny though, that's where taste comes in.

I think humor is developed as a coping technique and/or is part of genetic coding.
