Here's another debate on the subject:
http://www.cbc.ca/news/yourview/sports/2006/10/is_toronto_ready_for_an_nfl_te.html
Pros: The CFL is no longer an impediment to the NFL expanding into Canada. And as a media market, the Toronto metropolitan area's population would easily rank in the top ten in North America. Canadians also are no stranger to the sport. It's also arguable that one Canadian team would garner a fan base across the entire country of Canada.
Cons: Would it be another step towards "Americanizing" Canada? Also, Toronto would stand to benefit from having an NFL team, but would the NFL's 32 owners see having a team in Toronto as more beneficial to the league than one in Los Angeles? Or Las Vegas? Or Portland? Or Puerto Rico? Or Mexico City? It's hard to make an argument for Toronto that cannot also be used by one of these other media markets. And Toronto would have to win over most/all of the 32 owners in order to make an NFL team in Toronto happen.

First off Goodell is talking about having a Superbowl outside the U.S. NO FANS in the U.S. want that. Maybe the NFL should now be called the Nevermind the Fans League. If they decide to pull that stunt I think we need to boycott the Superbowl. As to why not put an NFL team there, because Toronto has the CFL there. Don't try to compare the hockey league to the NHL either. MINOR LEAGUES or JUNIOR LEAGUES aren't the same as the Pro League. Don't know if they have any minor league teams or not but wouldn't be surprised. The NFL is a PRO league. The CFL is a PRO league. Besides Buffalo refuses to move, even though their owner doesn't seem to be doing anything for them in Buffalo.

Toronto has a team in the Canadian Football League (CFL). It's not as hyped and known as well as NFL but they do have a team. THe Argonauts are something like that.
I think they don't have a NFL team because if they did, they would be worse than the Raiders. Just Kiddin II

Toronto has the Toronto Argonaughts from the Canadian Football League. I don't think the NFL will ever expand out of the United States because there's honestly no reason to with the current condition of the league.

The only reason that the NHL is in Canada is because the National Hockey League was formed in Montreal in 1917 and was one of the first 5 teams. The NFL is looking to go to other cities around the Americas like (Mexico City) but with the CFL i don't think they will put one in Toronto. To add the NHL (NHA) was founded in Canada with all 5 teams in Canada ( 2 in Montreal, Toronto, Ottawa, Quebec) Soccer is the biggest sport. mlb i dunno?

A team would have to be sold to an entity desiring to move it to Toronto, or the league would have to expand again, which is highly unlikely. NFL franchises mean big $, and there are plenty of interested American cities willing to build whatever and tolerate whatever to get them there. Until Toronto can out-bid an interested American city, I wouldn't expect to see an NFL team there.

Toronto has the Argonauts of the CFL. Since they play a different brand of football there, I doubt they want a more expensive NFL team.

They already have the CFL. The NFL doesnt need to expand anymore so it means moving a team and they are big on wasting another team in LA first.

Before they put a team in Toronto, they should put a team in LA. The NFL is dumb and losing money by not having a team in LA, the biggest sport market.
