You think that's bad?
Wait until they implement some kind of government subsidized health care, and ultimately force price controls on pharmaceutical companies. Then you can wave bye-bye to new drug research and innovation.

The best comment I ever heard about Socialism came from Britain's "Iron Lady", Margaret Thatcher, the former Prime Minister. She said, "The problem with Socialism is that eventually you run out of other peoples' money to spend."
Imagine if she tries to squeeze the oil companies. They will respond by such a huge array of financial weapons she won't even be able to keep count. Exxon could divest itself of those things that are being most heavily taxed. It could vastly reduce its investment in "green" technology because it is not profitable, it could sell off parts of the company to foreigners, etc. These corporations always find a way to maximize their profits. (and how many jobs will be lost as a consequence of all this?)
How about if Hillary tries to nationalize health care? You and I both know exactly how that plays out. The Democrats will make a big show of "saving" America from greedy doctors and hospitals. There will be a short period of euphoria. Then the system will become impossibly overloaded, so the Dems will throw more money into the sinkhole. There will be rampant corruption, bad quality of service, nighmarishly slow service (waiting months for an appointment), and rationing of services. Then the public threatens to yank support for the Dems, who then decide to throw EVEN MORE money at the problem. However, what is typical of a government run facility? Even something that should be a showcase of modernity and excellence in treatment like Walter Reid was recently exposed as being terribly mismanaged.
Let's opt to not go down this dead-end Socialist path. We know how Hillary's policies would turn out in the end. We would run out of other peoples' money to spend.

Morality has nothing to do with business, people need to stop thinking that companies should act like they are the march of dimes or something. I don't know if everyone forgot but we are a capitalist nation, the whole point is that you are supposed to create new ways to make more money for yourself. And if you take the profits away from companies you are hurting everybody who has a retirement plan, since their stocks will go down.. good thing they have social security to support them in retirement huh.

Yeah, this wackjob socialist is whistling past the graveyard, isn't she?
Wait 'til the Baby Boomers retire and want their Social Security and Medicare (and, believe me, they aren't gonna take NO! for an answer), the Medicaid edifice comes tumbling down, and the nation's infrastructure has to begin being rebuilt.
This will all be happening at once during the upcoming teens and I'd just LOVE it if that witch was in office to try and manage those kinds of problems! I can hear her shrieking now: The Evil Oil Companies!, The Evil Drug Companies!, The Evil Right-Wing Conspiracy!, The Evil Republicans!, The Evil George Bush!, blah, blah, blah.
Too bad her dreams of absolute power are so unlikely to ever come to fruition. Too bad for her anyway.

Its good that they will go, they are replaceable
That way we can focus on researching alternative energy.. as long as Exxon is still in business within the US, its not gonna happen since they, Exxon, block any shift in changing oil as a main source of energy.
Beside that, there is the prospect looming that a Democrat going to win the office come 2008, indicments for price gouging comes to mind... maybe thats why cheney & co move to Dubai.

Hillary, like many liberal democrats, have no good original ideas. 90% of what they operate on is hatred. Hatred for our president, hatred for war, hatred for big business, hatred of conservatives, hatred of low taxes and limited govt, hate hate hate.
Always the answer with liberals is to throw your hands in the air and say people cant take care of themselves, give up, and become european. They need the govt to take care of them in many ways and these evil out of control fleecing America companies like exxon need people like Hugo Chavez to take them over.
Democrats wont be happy until there is a threshold established for businesses. If you start bringing in X amount of profits or have X amount of assets, then you fall under govt control because you cant be trusted.

Corporations are no different than individuals in this world. When you find yourself in an an increasingly hostile environment, you look for a place in the world that is more accommodating to you own well being, that offers you hope of a better future, and move there.

Halliburton moved to Dubai so it could do business with Iran and get around the US sanctions. It had nothing to do with profits.

She has been reported already to be making deals with Venezuela's President. Her profits margin 100% on an oil deal there. One can only hope America wakes up to all the trash being slung our way. Persian Journals I believe.
