If you just upgraded to a card with the same chipset, but more memory, you would see some improvement, but it wouldn't be a huge improvement. If you upgraded to something like a Geforce 7600GT with 256 megs of memory or even 128 megs, you would see a remarkable difference. That is to say, your GPU is limiting your performance more than your graphics memory.

Well look, the size doesnt mean anything if its not a true upgrade. Meaning, if I have a nvidia 6800 with 256 vs the same in 512, then there wouldnt be that big of difference. There is alot to think about before buying a card. Dont just go by memory size. Memory mainly helps in higher resolutions.
Anyways check out the link I put below for video card comparison!

It all depends if you plan on staying with XP or Vista, and what kind of games you are planning to play. If you are going to Vista, it would be minimal and you would need a nice CPU with at least 1 gig ram. If you plan on staying with XP for a while and dont mind waiting, you should just stick with your card for just a lil while longer. So Im thinking no.

Hi. Only if your games are now bumping up against the 128MB performance limit.
