I'm French but I've been living in London for ages and I do feel a bit shameful for my mother country.

That Sarozky guy is no different from GW Bush or Hitler. Trust me, he won't do anything special to French. Will he? I doubt it. We'll see about Sarozky soon then.

Unfortunate but not a surprise, he's looked the likely winner for a while. Hopefully he won't follow through on his get-tough rhetoric or the French could be in for a fair few riots.

He has promised a radical change to France - and from what I read, then this is what the French people want - and need. But only time will tell if he keeps his word. Remember Tony Blair and his promises?

It is a golden opportunity for France to change, and the
British to change their opinion of them.

But voted on National Front voices? Over half the
country voted for him. So what are you saying?

being english i am not aware of any of the two people involved, but from what i can gather he will be a strict president, and will put a stop to all the strikes that close down the ferries, but i believe he does not think much of the poor, so people will have to wait and see what kind of job he does.

will hold ... on the opinion of your new leader he has the voice of those who voted for him and also has to listen to the voices of those who didn't ...and don't be ashamed I live in Scotland and look what happened here also last week ..scary stuff ....but still have Scottish pride on hold

It looks like France can finally start to rebuild it's credibility as a first world nation. now that the UN has lost a conspirator to it's almost criminal neglect, I bet we see a change there to.

Good Job France. 85% voter turn out, impressive.
Voting for a conservative, unheard of, good things are coming.

I am irish and living in France.
Its bloody awful. To be hoesnt there was two bad condadites left Royal and Sarky, which is worse, someone with Tony Blair as a role model or someone without much experience.
I wish everyone voted White:
