It still works but there are times when there is no power feeding off to my laptop, i just really want to know how safe this is. Thanks.

Not that safe, simple wire crossover could cause spark. and BANG !!!! best to find a replacement on ebay.

If you can't identify the problem on the cord, then buy a new one.

Personally, I'd re-splice the lines and use shrink-wrap instead of electrical tape. But then again, I know what I'm doing.

if none of the wires are snagged and its just the thick outside lead that protects the wire inside its fine just dont snagg those wires, if your still not sure you could always buy another but these days they are really expensive, hope this helps.

it's ok but since you notice no power at times, then I suggest you purchase a new one..
