Well, it hurts to read that, but at least you know you were wrong to do that, and you feel remorse and want to make up for it, so how about this, go and volunteer at an animal shelter one day a week, and help take care of animals that others have abused, and help the abused animals get thier health back, and help them find placement. You will never be able to make up to the one cat, but you can help other animals find better lives.... By owning up to it, and seeking a way to balance it out in the other direction, you will not only help yourself to feel better, but also make new friends, both human and animal, and move on to live a better life with lessons learned...

I would suggest going to an animal shelter and volunteering to play with the animals, or even see if you can help out on a regular basis. When you are around animals that you are helping to find homes it might help you get rid of that guilt.

If that is not something you want to do, simply go to your local Petsmart or Petco. A lot of the time you can pay to sponsor an animal to find a home.

Plus, just don't hang on to it. I know its hard to forget but you were young and the fact that you are now sorry for it means a great deal.

If your parents/guardians are still alive tell them about it, and how you feel. I am sure they would have some suggestions. Or even just tell a friend face-to-face. That always helps me.

Watch how you treat women! It has been proven that one characteristic of spouse abusers is that as children they abused animals..(allbeit they usually have actually killed animals when children)...just be aware of right and wrong and learn a better outlet for your anger/rage.

Maybe you could take some quiet time and talk to the spirit of the cat and ask its forgiveness? There may be a chance that it may not here you, but you would feel better voicing the regret and that would settle your conscious. Speak it out loud and hear yourself say it.

A part of me wants to shove my foot up your ****, but the fact that you feel guilty is a good sign that you have some decency in you. Everyone makes mistakes we are not proud of, and the fact is you HAVE to move on. Maybe you should join an animal rights group, or volunteer at an animal shelter, that would probably make you feel better. Good luck to you.

by doing the hardest thing of all.... forgiving yourself.. you were young.. you made mistakes... you are obviously a good person or you wouldn't have feelings of regret.. just remember this and promise yourself to not do such things again... and then remember that without the past you wouldn't be who you are today.. as rocky as some parts may be they helped form "You"...

We all have done good and bad in our lives.. it's what we take with us from these experiences that matters.

volunteer time in an animal shelter taking good care of animals. Or open your home to a rescued animal. Or if you don't want to do any of that then donate money or pet food to an animal shelter.

Well, if you're truly sorry you have to simply forgive yourself. There is nothing you can do to change the past. Move on. Live a good life now.

I Hope you understand this , But it's a blissing that a "mistake" is over .. IT's over .. It's past once we learn the lesson . So Don't be sad , one that doesnt mistake is not a perfect person , He's rather a person that doesnt learn .

Wow, what kind of child were you? You obviously knew what you were doing was wrong. I could never see myself doing that to any animal.

Anyway its all in the past, if it really effecting you go see the doctor and they might be able to refer you to a psychotherapist.
