I have had Netflix for quite some time, but I am getting more than fed up with all the unplayable disks they send to me. I'm considering switching to Blockbuster. Has anyone had both services recently and noticed a difference in the number of disks that are playable vs. unplayable?

we have had Netflix for over 2 years and we have had maybe 2 or 3 movies that were unplayable...

if you are having a problem with a lot of unplayable movies, you might want to consider that it might be your DVD player.... maybe it needs a cleaning.... you can buy cleaning kits pretty inexpensively....

in response to the poster below me... I didn't think Netflix had been around that long either but I just looked it up and Netflix has been around since 1998 or 1997... :O I guess it took awhile to become popular...

I've tried both services, and I received more unplayable DVDs from Blockbuster than Netflix, even when I went into the store to switch them I still got ones that were scratched and skipped and didn't play. Therefore I chose Netflix over Blockbuster and have never had a problem!

I think you are as likely to get unplayable / scratched DVDs from Blockbuster as you are from Netflix. I prefer Netflix's service. I've been with them for almost 10 years. I tried Blockbuster, but their selection is very limited.

Well, I don't use Netflix but in all the crazy movies I've gotten from Blockbuster I only received 2 that were unplayable.

Hope this helps you ... :)

ok first of all, to the first person who said "ive been with netflix for 10 years" netflix hasent even been around for 10 years.

and to answer the question, i have been with netflix for 2 years, and have NEVER received a disk that didnt work...
so... i dunno... i guess you could try blockbuster... i mean its not like either one has a contract saying how long you have to stay with them, ya know...
