I only get my period about once every other or every three months. When I do get it, it is very heavy and lasts about a week. Is this normal, or is there something wrong with me?
NOTE: I don't know if this effects answers, but I am not sexually active.

This just means you have irregular periods. I have them too, sometimes I'll go 40 days and they last about 5 days. I spoke with my gynecologist and he said that there is nothing wrong with it, he even mentioned that his wife sometimes would go 60 days.

The option if you really want them regular is to take birth control pills they'll regulate them. I chose not to as I am not sexually active. I figured that when I am getting married, then I'll get on them.

All the best

I would go see a GYN for a check up and some advice. My situation is identical to yours, its more common than you think. My doctor told me that I don't ovulate every month and that is fine unless I am trying to get pregnant right away. You can take birth control and go back to having a period every month. Once I found out I was healthy I stopped worrying and was happy about it.

How long ago did you start menstruating?

It was normal for me for a few years, but I went to the doctor to get on the birth control pill to regulate it more.

If you are a teenager don't sweat it, because your body is still in the changing mode.
