I have a custom made cassette tape (which I will soon convert to CD) made up of nothing but beach songs. Oldies obviously. Castles In the Sand by Seals & Croft, Circle In the Sand, surf songs by the Beach Boys, Pipeline by the Chantays (accept no substitutes), Wipeout by the Surfaris, etc. I always took it to the beach with me.Unfortunately, I no longer live near a beach, so I bought a CD set of instrumental music with the sounds of the sea in the backround, and I listen to that and my tape sometimes and reminisce.

old or new?
I think "boys of summer" is the ultimate summer song
sublime-summertime
Pick a good country song and make it your beach/party anthem. The whole Toby Keith unleashed is all exciting mainly uptempo fun muse.

Well, Punch; Speaking from experience, I recovered from a shattered life over 8years ago and the last thing you need right now is anything that mentions suicide or any form of solitary isolation. Find some people to be with and work on your recovery 24/7.

Cheesuss:
"Red Red Wine" is a song originally written by Neil Diamond that was then covered by Tony Tribe and more famously by UB40 in later years. In the song, the singer finds drinking wine is the only way to forget a lost love.
Red, red wine, it's up to you
All I can do, I've done, but mem'ries won't go
UB40 did a remake THEY DID NOT WRITE IT!!!

I like any chill out songs (try Chicane) especially at night, just hearing the sea breeze, drinking some booze. Or try "The Beach" soundtrack, too. Its the perfect album for getting "lost" in the sounds. Over all, check for any chill out music.

Go for the MUSIC from the 50's 60's when music was music and said something positive. That music was what LOVE was all about and fun. Dancing singing and having good clean fun.
