Anyone of these links is full of information on the pro side of the "A" bomb. Read them and you will know what to write......
The devastation was so great that the world doesn't want it to happen again.
The U.S. was in two wars at the same time......the only way to stop Japan in it's track from trying to conquer China and the rest of the world was to drop the bomb. Be it right or wrong, the decision weighed heavy on President Truman..........
........................NOTE.....................
That is why North Korea, and Iran need to be stopped, because they won't stop with just dropping 2 bombs. They will stop with complete annihilation of the world.

While a lot of the reasons for dropping the bomb were found to actually not be real, no one knew this at the time. No one knew the Japanese would probably surrender in six months even if the US didn't invade the main islands of Japan. Our data at the time was: 1) there had never been a major country defeated without a mainland invasion in history; 2) the Japanese had kamakazi pilots and similarly fanatical guys on the ground--many believed the whole country would fight to the death; 3) targeting civilians had become an acceptable warfare tactic, as long as there was a military reason for targeting them (it's OK to bomb industries that supply the war effort); 4) here was a bomb that the world had never seen, and may scare the Japanese into surrendering.
After the war, some of these believed notions about Japan and the war were found to not be the truth, but there was no way to know this back then. The a-bombs were dropped with the idea of saving American soldiers from losing their lives in a drawn out war against an island that would be difficult to invade. Many thought that despite their destructive power, that dropping the a-bombs would save total lives (not just American lives) in the long run by ending the war sooner.
There were a lot of reasons the US dropped the bombs then, and a lot of reasons people have second-guessed the decision later, but the important thing to remember is that the US had to make the decision based on 1945 intellegence, not 1947 intellegence gained after interviewing Japanese admirals and being able to asses the situation post-war.

Taking the pro argument for this one is harder due to the extreme suffering ( if yoiu are refering to the two attacks on Japan).
YOu could say:
1. it brought a quicker end to the war , thus, ultimately, reducing the FURTHER LOSS OF LIFE around the world.
2. it ushered in an era of US power and preeminence
3. The bombing averted further loss of american soldiers.
4. It paved the way for the creation of a democratic Japan.
5. It gave our enemies pause due to our overwhelming superiority at the time.........
Dont mention it was brutally cruel, costing casualties in the millions ,counting future generations suffering, or that it ushered in a terrible arms race with the soviets........

Japan was warned by millions of leaflets to evacuate before the bombing.
If they had not surrendured , plans were already in the works to invade Japan. It was estimated that 500,000 American casualties would result plus unknown numbers of Japanese civilians.
As bad as the bombings were, casualties were far less than the planned invasion.
