It is theoretically possible but it maybe practically impossible. Information is the present and it travels at the speed of light. If you can go faster then the speed of light then you can beat the future to the chase and thus travel back in time. Let's say there were two planets separated by 100 light years. So, what's happening on planet A is transmitted and takes 100 years to get to planet B. If you could make a ship that travel from planet A to planet B in just 1 year then you would be 99 years from the future. You would have knowledge on planet B of what is going to happen on Planet A for the next 100 years. Another example. Let's say you could travel 100 light years from Earth in 1 year and use some super telescope to see what was going on. You would see what was happening 99 years ago.

with present knowledge and technology its not possible.
but , if we travel faster than speed of light we can slow the time.
there is a man who is working on such type of machine. but according to him if we even make a time machine than it will only be possible to go back to the time when that first machine was put to work.
there can be a hope in future.

Any good realistic chance of time travel actually happening calls for the ship (in space) to blast away from Earth at BEYOND or FASTER THAN the measured speed of light.
Pull that off....and you got HALF the problem dealt with.
Then there's the fun part of getting BACK.....To The....Past????

I think its a crock of sh*t. I dont think its possible but who REALLY knows? People say the Bermuda Triangle might be a time warp or that black holes in space are.

Yes.
there was a video about this in the science section of i-am-bored.com once.
in theory, you have to spin in circles at the speed of light or get sucked into a black hole
(getting sucked into a black hole would be going forward in time because assuming you survived time would stop for you, so one instant for you could be billions of years on earth)

You can only go forward in time, and only with a near speed of light spaceship.
