I must be very secure in my sexuality. Is he calling me gay, or is he saying I'm not gay and I don't worry if others think I am?

He's not saying you're gay. He's being snide.

I used to wear a really cool purple shirt with a golden tan tweed blazer. It looked good together and I didn't give a crap who thought purple was gay-looking.

Don't worry about his crud. He shouldn't have brought it up. But if it were me, I would think of some equally sarcastic, snappy comebacks for the next time he said something like that.

Being secure in your sexuality doesn't mean you're gay at all. It probably means it looks like you're gay even though you're not. However, in my experience, no self respecting gay man would wear a purple tie and green jacket.

He meant to say that you'd stick out like Dennis Hopper at a chess tournament if the board room had an emergency meeting. Too bad he's not a communicator.

Whether you're gay or not, you don't dress like Kermit The Frog at work.

Maybe your boss is gay and he's making a prissy, snarky comment about the fact that you are dressed like the Joker.

I would say it was the latter more than the former. However, I would think you look more like The Joker from Batman myself.

i think he means that the stereotype for gay men is flamboyant. and that maybe your unique sense of dress is his ignorant way to compliment you in the you dont care how others portray you way....

He's impressed that someone can dress themselves with some color instead of whatever boring thing he's wearing.

That's an odd thing to say. Maybe he is or maybe he's hinting that its tacky. I don't know.
