DVDs all the time by signing up to free online trials, renting a couple of DVDs then canceling his subscription before paying anything, then moving on to the next one. Do any of you do this? If so, what are the pitfalls? Any problems canceling? What are the best sites?

Be VERY careful if you're considering doing this. My brother did for a short while a couple of years ago. I even let him use my credit card. Then, he ended his last trial and everything seemed to go fine except....

I kept seeing a bill for £13.99 come up on my credit card for www.lovefilm.com I called up my credit card company and told them that everything had been cancelled and they told me to speak to lovefilm.

I won't go into the details but it's now been 2 1/2 years, my credit card is STILL being debited and I'm caught up in all kinds of legal wranglings with both companies as no-one wants to accept responsibility.

Therefore, like I say, be VERY careful before you decide to do this.

There's lots of rental sites you could do this on but several pitfalls:
You'll probably only be able to do it once with each provider.
Some companies run different sites eg. I think LoveFilm also run the Tesco rental service so you probably could only register on 1 of these.
Make sure you know the terms of when they can start charging you (after a length of time or after a number of rentals) and be sure to cancel in time or you'll lose money.

Hi, you could probably do that, however it should be considered a scam, and would not be very nice. Anyway before you sign up or register with any DVD Rental company, you should be reading the T&C's and agree with it, as some companies will charge you for canceling your registration before the period requested by them.
